Perfection
Bill and I want to thank everyone for all of their love and support throughout our special day and our whole engagement. Our wedding went smoothly and we couldn't have asked for more. Everything was so beautiful and we had a gorgeous day to celebrate on.
We both had such a blast with everyone and it seemed that everyone was having a great time at the reception. What a party!
Preliminary photos are here. They're what we found on my camera when we got home this evening. What a nice surprise! We thought we'd have to wait a week or so to see any pictures!
Look for us in the Bee Group newspaper on Wednesday!

Tomorrow
Well, the day is almost here. Today my mom and I went to go get manicures and pedicures. Very fun. Now I'm getting Bill to do everything for me so I don't muss my nails. Even more fun.
Rehearsal tonight and then the real thing tomorrow. I can't believe how fast this engagement went by. Everyone said it would go quickly, and I didn't believe them fourteen months ago! Ha ha! Now I know they were right.
See you guys soon!

Wedding is in four days!
So, of course, yesterday morning I had to faint in the bathroom. I have two black eyes, my nose is all cut up, and I have multiple fractures in my nose. Oh yeah, and I completely destroyed my glasses.
So, don't hug me too tight at the wedding. And mind the nose!
Just what I needed...

10 days
I meant to mention yesterday that all of you who have access to the Bee (Amherst, Clarance or otherwise) should look for our wedding announcement in the August 8th edition. The 8th is coincidentally the 26th wedding anniversary of my parents, and the 23rd birthday of my lovely maid of honor Janelle.
Bill's parents are celebrating their 30th anniversary on the 30th of July. So Bill and I are getting married smack dab in the middle of when our parents did. Ha.

Photos
Ah Ha! I discovered that I can post photos from Picasa straight to Blogger. Fantastic. This is a photo of me and my future sister-in-law Michelle from my shower in May. I just wish that I could post several pictures at one time so that I can share wedding photos with everyone easily. Does anyone have a suggestion for software or a website that would allow me to easily upload potentially hundreds of photos?
EDITI found that I have the ability to make webalbums with Picasa but my storage space is limited. I'll plan on using Picasa for now, but I am still open to suggestions! end edit
Lastly, I just want to make sure that you all know that Bill and I are expecting copies of photos you all take at our wedding. So, please plan accordingly, and we will love you forever.

17 days
All right, I feel that while I have nothing very interesting to report, I should nevertheless report on progress since the wedding is in seventeen days. Yes, seventeen days. Start packing your bags :) Especially those of you coming early.
So, it's getting a little crazy. I spent a ton of time on the phone Monday and Tuesday in addition to doing paperwork. The good news is that the flowers and the DJ are all set, and so are the table assignments. And the ceremony music, wedding program and table cards are set too.
Now, all that needs to be done is printing the programs and some other things for the tables, making the place cards and favors and dropping everything off at the hotel. I should probably call and check on the cake sometime soon too.
A week from today I will be heading back to Buffalo to finalize everything and I will be there through the wedding. Should be good times :)

Last week Bill and I went to go see License to Wed. This morning we went to purchase our own license to wed. Fantastic. Now we're all set legally, and we left with a gift bag for newlyweds. I love small towns. The gift bag included a variety of samples, including coffee, Bounty napkins, deodorant, and laundry detergent, a booklet of recipes for cooking with aluminum foil, and most importantly a free AOL cd and an order form for novelty checks. Ha ha. And now it's official and legal for me to change my last name to Flannery after the wedding.
We were in Buffalo this past weekend and I worked with my mom on some table assignments. Fun stuff.
Oh, and my dress fitting went well.
And since I know you were all nervous, the jewelry I made for the rehearsal dinner outfit I have matched perfectly. Phew :-p

Updates
So, as we approach the four week mark, you may be wondering what I am up to. Or what we're both up to. Well, here it is in bullet form.
-Made jewelry to wear with my rehearsal dinner dress. I'm hoping it actually matches, as the jewelry is in Geneva and the dress is in Buffalo. I also learned to make earrings for this, so keep that in mind if you are looking for a way to tell me I'm awesome the day before the wedding :-p
-Bought wedding day jewelry. (Cheating?)
-Final dress fitting is on Friday.
-Meeting with the judge this weekend.
-We're hoping to get our marriage license next week.
-Saw License to Wed today. Quite funny, not very relaxing since our wedding is so soon, also we're glad we don't know anyone like Robin Williams' character/haven't put anyone like that in charge of part of our wedding.
-Came up with what I think is a fun guest book idea. Hopefully most people will think so too.
-Working on the wedding program. I think it looks neat so far!
-Starting on the dreaded table assignments this weekend. Eek!
-Bill made us really nice return address labels.
-I really need to start filling out paperwork to change my name...
-Also finished part of the bridesmaid gifts today. Yay!
-Working on DJ details.
Other than that, not much has been going on. I guess it looks like we've done more lately than it feels like we've done.
We're in the home stretch now!

So soon!
Less than six weeks til the wedding. I can't believe we're at the point where we have to count in weeks, not months. It is sneaking up so quickly!
Not much new. Still picking little details. Gotta love it.
Hope all is well.

Less than two months!
Ah! The wedding is officially two months from yesterday! It seems to be sneaking up on us much faster than we thought. When we got engaged 14 months seemed like a great length of time to plan minute details.
Actually, today marks one year of our engagement. Crazy! It's going by so fast, but it's such a great thing to love and be loved.
Enough of that sap, wedding updates:
Since I last typed to you all, I had another lovely wedding shower, and had some beautiful photos taken of me in the wedding dress for newspaper announcements to come out after the wedding. Getting all dolled up wasn't as bad as I imagined, and the photos turned out great! It will be hard to choose which one to pick for the paper, and equally hard to not consult my best friend on the subject since he can't see them until after we are married. Can't spoil the surprise of the dress.
Lastly, I had my dress fitting and it is now being hemmed, bustled and sewn up properly. Excellent.

More updating
Happy May everyone! And you know what May means...yep, less than three months til the wedding.
Since the last update we have sorted out the flowers (Wegmans), I have moved to Geneva, I finished grad school, and Bill and I got to hang out with Bard and Byron. It was very exciting to meet Bard and eat a delicious cheeseburger at the lovely Roadhouse Grill. We had a delightful time and hope to do it again soon!
Also since the last update, Bill has acquired a Wii from Wal-Mart and we have been playing that. It's quite fun and I'd recommend it to anyone who has $400 to drop. Heh.
Hope all is well with everyone!

Updates
So, we're hoping to go with Wegmans for our flowers. The details should be in place tomorrow morning. :)
And tonight is dinner with the groomsmen. Should be good times :)
Not much else is new. I'm almost done with school (one exam, one half-written paper left!) Then I can focus on finding a job and pretending to care about small details re: the wedding. Ha ha.
Oh, and apparently the lovely Kay Wallace reads this blog. So, hello Kay! :)

Flowers
Bill and I went with my mom to look at flowers over the weekend. We're still waiting on quotes so that we can decide who to go with. I'm a little leary about the one place because they weren't cetrain that they could get me exactly what I wanted for my bouquet. :-/
Nothing else new. The bridesmaid gifts came in ther other day so that part of them are all set to go. I think I may have mentioned that already.

Updates
The invitations arrived safely via FedEx a few weeks ago. That was good since it was pouring rain on their expected delivery date and my dad was home in the afternoon by chance so he saved them from a watery grave. No one wants a soggy invitation.
In other news, the bridesmaid gifts arrived in the mail as well. I have to modify them a little and then I can forget about them for three months. Hopefully I'll remember where I put them though. :-p
And tomorrow is flower shopping. Lots of places are already booked for August 4th, so it seems I needed to do this sooner. I knew that though. Ah well. Two appointments tomorrow, and I hope we can just choose one of those places. More on that later (i.e. tomorrow or Sunday).
Must concentrate on getting my degree rather than wedding details...though wedding details can be more fun. I'm reading Catherine Called Birdy for my young adult services class. For those who haven't read it, it's about a girl in 1290-1291 who is dodging her father's attempts to arrange a marriage for her. I'm glad I don't live in 1290, because I have no idea who my dad would pick for me. Also, I like my modern conveniences too much. And of course, I love Bill, so thank goodness it's 2007.

Mellowing?
So, the jeweler called Bill today to say that our engravings were messed up. Apparently they did it in all capital block letters when it was just supposed to be a capital at the beginning, followed by cursive letters. Or something like that.
The old me would be upset. But I typed it out in caps on my computer and it looked okay, so whatever. I'm going tomorrow to make the decision after I've seen them.
I remember a time where I'd get stressed out and upset, but this whole wedding planning thing has given me a new outlook. I think my second wedding motto (after "One stop shop!") is going to be "Just make it look nice." Seriously, I mean, I don't care what the cake looks like as long as it doesn't look like someone sat on it. It should look like a wedding cake. "What's that? You make wedding cakes? Good. Make me one. Just make it look nice." (Okay, maybe I'll freak out if it's chocolate cake when we ordered vanilla, but at the same time, so what if I don't like the cake? Most people do like chocolate cake :-p)
Also, do I care what color the cloth napkins are? No. I trust people to make it look nice. They know my colors are green and pink, so obviously a white, green or pink napkin would be just great. Don't bother me with the details, just do it nicely. Thanks, good job.
Maybe my mind is whacked out right now. I just spent three hours looking at government documents and my brain hurts. Don't mind my musings.

The game of life
So, I was driving along today, heading to pick up a pizza for my family, when suddenly I had a strange thought: I am just starting the game of life. Let me explain.
In the game of life, you start out in a car by yourself and you can either go to college or you don't. Then you get married, and perhaps have kids or other wonderful accomplishments as you travel along the game board. My life is right at the start space now. I am about to graduate from college (Yes, I graduated already, but now I get a masters...I don't think the game of life has a masters, but I digress) and Bill is about to "get into my car" or rather, marry me.
So, does this mean that everything I've done up until this point in my life wasn't worthy? I mean, it isn't in the game of life. You start life out with a car, so you must be about 16. So, 0-16 doesn't count? How unfair. There should be a children's version of this game. Maybe there is.
Just a reflection. No wedding news. Actually, our personalized napkins are being FedExed. My mom wanted us to have personalized napkins. We will on Thursday :-p

Invitations
Invitations ordered. It took three and a half hours of fighting with the website and entering in all the information four times. It was like having a dial up connection to the internet again. At least they're ordered. Hopefully they arrive before June.
But I was supposed to have also written a paper. Good thing it isn't due tomorrow.

Wedding bands!
We went to the mall today to purchase several things as part of a routine shopping trip including a buy one get one free pretzel, a greeting card, a computer game, and dinner. We also looked at several other things including a Sabres jersey/sweater, possible rehearsal dinner dresses, a meat thermometer, and for the whereabouts of Waldenbooks (they closed and did not reopen)
Lastly, we also went to Gordon's, the jeweler in the food court that we got my engagement ring at, and bought our wedding bands :) They have to be sized down, but then we will have them all set for our approaching big day!
So, check that off the list! Tomorrow we're hopefully (knock on wood) working on our invitation wording and placing the order for those! :)

Honeymoon planned...
So we, or rather I, finally got around to making the reservations for the Honeymoon. We are going to Burlington,VT. Neither of us have ever been there before so it should be interesting and it will be "our place". There are several interesting things up that way (besides cows) like Ben&Jerry's factory, the Vermont Teddy Bare Co, assorted wineries breweries, and apple cider places. The Cabot Creamery is also there (cows). The city is located on Lake Champlain so there are several water activities plus a ferry to Saratoga Springs. The hotel that we are staying in is all suites all of which have full kitchens and some of which have fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs. We got one of the ones that had both. Since we are also there for a week they gave us a lower rate which saves us a bit of money that now can go towards other things, like a Wii. The hotel also has a daily hot breakfast and serves a free dinner and wine/beer thing on weekday nights. That should save us the need to go out for dinner.
It will be a fun trip, we are both looking forward to it.

Tuxedo Shopping
The tuxedo decisions have been made.
I felt slightly bad because I made some of the decisions when they really should be Bill's. But he didn't seem to mind, and I don't like white vests. Or gold cuff links.
I learned that the only thing that makes it a tuxedo is satin lapels. Otherwise it is just a suit. I thought there was more to it than that, but there is not.
Also, how fun that the groomsmen will match the bridesmaids! I wish I could tell them about the light green they will be wearing, but that pleasure can be all for Bill. Maybe they won't mind.
So now everyone has clothing to wear. No nudists please.
Lastly, if the plural of potato is potatoes and the plural of tomato is tomatoes, why isn't the plural of tuxedo tuxedoes?

Dresses are in!
Emma and I picked up the bridesmaid dresses today. It definitely was a two person job. It required us to be one on each side of the car, one pushing and the other pulling. Gotta love it.
I'm happy because they came in properly. I was worried because I had a phlebotomist tell me once that her bridesmaids' dresses came in grey when they were supposed to be pink with a grey sash. This is what she tells me to calm me down while she draws my blood. Honestly.
Now I have three dresses hanging in my closet and I can't close my nice sliding door. I am afraid something will come out and get me during the night. Yes, I am 22.
Edit: I got my closet closed. I was inspired after having a nightmare about a flesh-eating virus that may have been caused by having the closet open, or from a discussion about the book Feed in my Young Adult Resources class.

Thoughts
The bridesmaid dresses are in. After all that "hurry up and order now!" stuff, they are in within two weeks. (Even though they told me it would be til mid-March) Apparently when the store called they asked that I pick them up within 14 days. Do you suppose this is because I left my shoes and tiara there for ages without picking them up? Heh. Clearly they love me at David's Bridal. Especially since I left my strapless bra there when I tried on wedding dresses. That was a fun thing to have to retrieve the following day. "Um, excuse me. I left my bra here..." Oy.
In other news, this new batch of invitation samples is much better. In fact, we may have a winner.
And we got a DJ contract to fill out. Apparently we need to know our songs right now. First dance, etc. I thought we could pick that almost at the last minute. Guess not. So, we've got some thinking to do.
Cross your fingers for me that the dresses are the sizes and colors that they are supposed to be!!

DJ services!
The DJ service just called me back and we're booked with them! Yay!
In other news, I sent away for invitation samples and they were ugly. Back to the drawing board (well, I already sent away for more...)
And, I am updating that delightful general information entry as things are added to the wedding (ex, I updated it when Byron agreed to be in the wedding, and I am about to update it with our DJ) So, that is a great place to look for general information! (Original Post date: January 21)

Bridesmaid dresses!
Emma, Janelle and I went to David's Bridal last night and looked at several dress options. This time I got to sit back and take notes for a while, rather than try dresses on. I also pretended that I worked there by running back to the racks to find sizes.
Now, originally I thought we would make it shorter dresses that were all the same color and fabric, but of different styles. This all changed, however, when we found this great dress that looked good on both girls and that I loved. So, now everyone has to wear the same thing because I'm mean. (And it's a longer dress because my dress is too formal for shorter bridesmaid dresses?!? Too many rules in wedding planning!)
Here's the kicker: it's being discontinued! So, Michelle and Megan need to get sized and place their order ASAP. Fortunately, they both said that this shouldn't be a problem. Phew. I always have to pick something difficult, don't I? Though, the second choice needed to be ordered ASAP too because it was so popular it was going to take forever to get in. Either way, we needed to act fast!
So everyone, prepare to be wowed by my lovely bridesmaids.
In other news: we got the DJ ball rolling, and hopefully that will be all set within the next two weeks!

Yes, I do already have my dress at this time. And my shoes, veil, blusher veil, tiara...tiara?!?! What did I let them talk me into? I guess I'm supposed to look like a fairy princess on my wedding day, or so the fairy tales tell us...unless you're reading an original Grimms, but I digress.
On Tuesday Emma, Janelle and I are going to go look at bridesmaids dresses. This will be entertaining for me, as I won't have to be left in the dressing room in my underwear while the woman runs to go get me a different style or size. This time I get to give opinions and do little to no work myself. Excellent.
And of course, the color is peridot. I used to think it was light green, but we have to be proper here: peridot. Perry-dough. Lovely.
Can I have a fairy godmother just wave her wand and plan this all for me? I mean, I AM going to have a tiara, why can't I have a fairy godmother? Heh.
